Return & Refund Policy
CenturiesCrafts — United States & Canada
At CenturiesCrafts, every knife is hand-forged, so we want you to be genuinely happy with what arrives. This policy covers returns, exchanges, and refunds for customers in both the United States and Canada
1. Return Window
You may request a return within 15 days of the delivery date shown on your tracking confirmation. After 15 days, we're unable to offer a refund or exchange.
2. Eligibility for Returns
To qualify for a return, your item must be:
- Unused and unsharpened — the edge must be in the same condition it shipped in
- In its original packaging, including any wood box, gift case, or leather sheath/roll it arrived with
- Free of engraving, personalization, or custom modifications you requested at checkout
- Accompanied by your order number or proof of purchase
Because our knives are hand-forged and, in many cases, made to order, we inspect all returns before issuing a refund. Items that show signs of use — including sharpening, cutting, or handle wear — will not be eligible for a refund and may be sent back to you at your expense.
3. Non-Returnable Items
The following are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged:
- Custom-engraved or personalized knives
- Made-to-order pieces built to your specific handle/blade combination
- Items marked "Final Sale" or "Clearance" at time of purchase
- Gift cards
4. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
If your knife arrives damaged, defective, or isn't what you ordered, contact us within 7 days of delivery at [support email] with your order number and photos of the item and packaging. We'll cover the cost of return shipping and send a replacement or full refund — your choice.
5. How to Start a Return
- Email info@centuriescrafts.com with your order number and reason for return.
- We'll confirm eligibility and send you a return authorization along with the return address.
- Pack the knife securely in its original packaging — blades should always be sheathed or wrapped in the wood/leather guard provided to prevent damage in transit and to keep the carrier safe.
- Ship the item back using a trackable method. We recommend insuring the shipment, since we can't issue a refund for items lost or damaged in return transit.
Returns sent without an authorization or return number may experience processing delays.
6. Return Shipping Costs
- Defective, damaged, or incorrect items: CenturiesCrafts covers return shipping.
- Change of mind / doesn't fit your needs: the customer is responsible for return shipping costs, both within the U.S. and within Canada.
- Cross-border returns (e.g., a Canadian customer returning to a U.S. warehouse, or vice versa): the customer is responsible for return shipping and any customs brokerage fees. Mark the package as "Returned Goods" on the customs form to avoid your return being charged duty a second time — we're happy to provide the correct paperwork on request.
7. Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return (typically within 3–5 business days of arrival), we'll email you to confirm approval. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–10 business days, though your bank or card issuer may take a few extra days to post it.
- U.S. orders are refunded in USD.
- Canadian orders are refunded in CAD (or in the original currency charged at checkout).
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable, except in cases of our error (damaged, defective, or incorrect item).
- If a restocking fee applies, it will be deducted from your refund.
8. Exchanges
Want a different size, steel, or handle wood instead of a refund? Let us know when you request your return and we'll hold the new item for you once your original return is received and approved. If there's a price difference, we'll invoice or refund the difference accordingly.
9. Duties, Taxes & Customs (Cross-Border Orders)
- U.S. customers ordering from a U.S. warehouse and Canadian customers ordering from a Canadian warehouse should not encounter duties on returns, since the item never leaves the country.
- If your order crosses the U.S.–Canada border (either direction) for the original purchase or the return, you may be responsible for duties, taxes, or brokerage fees charged by customs on either leg of the shipment. CenturiesCrafts is not responsible for duties assessed by customs authorities.
- Knives can be subject to import restrictions or additional scrutiny at the border. It's your responsibility to confirm your local customs rules for bladed items before ordering internationally.
10. Gifts
If your item was marked as a gift at checkout, you'll receive a store credit for the returned item once it's received and approved. If it wasn't marked as a gift, or the gift order was shipped to the purchaser first, the refund will go to the original purchaser's payment method.
